Quori: A Community-Informed Design of a Socially Interactive Humanoid Robot

Hardware platforms for socially interactive robotics can be limited by cost or lack of functionality. This article presents the overall system—design, hardware, and software—for Quori, a novel, affordable, humanoid robot platform facilitating noncontact human–robot interaction (HRI) research. The design system is motivated feedback sampled from HRI research community. maintains balance affordability Initial Quori testing six-month deployment are presented.
